Over the weekend, the Adams Central Squadron of Sound competed at Bluffton High School’s marching band competition, On The Banks of The Wabash. The Squadron of Sound claimed first place in Class D, as well as captions for Best Music, Best Visual, and Best Effect.

Mrs. Kohlhagen’s Adams Central agriculture students, along with agriculture students from North Adams and South Adams, were invited by the Maumee Watershed Alliance and the Adams County Soil & Water Conservation District to explore the Western Lake Erie Basin. The trip provided hands-on learning opportunities such as fish identification, dissection, fish trawling, identification of Lake Erie plankton, conducting water quality tests, collaborating with Ohio State’s Stone Laboratory researchers aboard a research vessel, understanding harmful algae blooms, and touring the historic Gibraltar Island.
This year, Lexie Hamilton (junior) is the Field Commander for the Adams Central Squadron of Sound! Lexie is also going to be featured as the EWI, or electronic wind instrument, soloist in this year's show. Lexie has been doing a wonderful job of leading the band so far this year. Be sure to catch Lexie and the Squadron of Sound at their first competition this Saturday, September 6, at Bluffton HS! They perform at 5 pm.
