To run for a school board office, you must fill out the required forms in the candidate packet. The packet includes
1. Acknowledgment Campaign Finance Report Filings Receipt
2. CAN-34: Petition of Nomination and Consent for School Board Office Elected in 2026. People who sign the petition must be registered voters. It is helpful to get more than 10 signatures to ensure you have enough valid signers.
3. CAN-12: Statement of Economic Interest for Local & School Board Offices
4. 2026 State of Indiana Campaign Finance Reporting Schedule
5. 2026 Indiana Election Calendar
6. Political Signs and “Disclaimer” Requirements for Political Literature and Advertisements.

Many forms are date and time-sensitive, so be sure to file on time. The CFA-4 report can be mailed, emailed, or dropped off at the Clerk’s office.
