School Library Month
School Library Month

April is a busy time of year with beautiful spring weather and many activities.  We want to take a minute (or a month!) to celebrate our libraries.  Adams Central is proud to have a library program that provides support to our school community whether that be through instruction, providing materials, or giving students opportunities to expand their love of reading.  To celebrate, we have a month long celebration with different activities in which students and staff can participate.

Elementary students will have different guessing games related to books when they visit the library.  They will also have an opportunity to share what they love about the library.  We will also have a story walk set up for part of April where elementary teachers can take their class on a walk and read a book along their journey!

Middle and high school students have been enjoying a No Overdues Ball Toss game.  Students have been searching the library to look for books to create Bookfaces.  Stay tuned for the results of this at the end of the month.  We also have a What Book Am I? station set up with a magnified part of a book cover to guess the popular book.  There will be a station where students can share what they like about the library.

Staff will have different opportunities to look through some of the new books in our library to see what might fit well into their classroom instruction.  They will also be able to look through upper level and chapter books to find titles they might want to add to their own personal reading list.

In a year of struggle, we have seen reading take off for many of our students (and adults).  The addition of Sora, our online ebooks and audiobooks, has been a huge success!  During shut-down, this allowed many students to be able to still get great books to listen to and read!  Sora is still going strong even though we have been back in school.

The services and activity we are able to provide wouldn't happen without this great library team.  Thank you for all of your hard work!
